Lenora Fay Penn, 73, Silver Lake, Indiana, passed away on January 21, 2021 at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana. Fay was born on June 20, 1947 in Lenore, West Virginia, to Sarah Elizabeth (Evans) Coburn. Fay’s father, Elijah Coburn, passed away before she was born.
At age twenty-one, Fay married Earl Thomas Bertram and had two children, Tammy and Thelma. On May 20, 1980 Fay married David A. Penn. The two were wed for twenty-one years before David passed away on November 18, 2001. Fay was lucky to find love again, and she spent many years with her longtime companion, Wedd Miller, before he passed away on April 13, 2014.
Fay worked as a CNA for many years at various retirement homes. She also spent most of her time as a homemaker and enjoyed going to the Silver Lake Lions Club to play cards and enjoy meals with friends. Fay loved being social and always made friends anywhere she went. She relished in her time in the garden tending to her plants, but most of all she loved playing Rummy and Rook with her family and friends. Fay always wanted the best for her family, and many times she told them what was best for them. When her health allowed, she enjoyed fishing, playing with her dogs, singing karaoke and going out to eat.
Although Fay suffered many heartbreaks in her life, she always considered herself fortunate to meet so many wonderful people and serve the Lord. She was a member of the Early Apostolic Bible Training Center, Claypool, Indiana, where she enjoyed singing and worshiping.
