Willard Hackworth

Willard Hackworth, 79, South Whitley, IN died at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in his daughter's residence in North Manchester, IN. He was born February 21, 1934 in Prestonsburg, KY to Brady & Glatha (Shepherd) Hackworth. On December 2, 1954 he married Ann R. Meadows. She died December 3, 2004. He was a farmer and retired after 30 years from Manchester Foundry, North Manchester, IN. He also worked with his brother-in-law at Meadows Well Drilling. Willard enjoyed flower gardening, playing the harmonica and repairing and selling bicycles. He loved his dogs. He is survived by two sons, David (Sheila) Hackworth, Silver Lake, IN and Jerry (Debbie Gilbert) Hackworth, Mentone, IN; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Luci) Staton, North Manchester, IN and Mrs. Rick (Christine) Manns, Akron, IN; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. One daughter, Robin Lynn Hackworth, one granddaughter, nine brothers and three sisters are deceased. Family & friends may call Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 W, North Manchester, IN. Services will be Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 W, North Manchester, IN. Rev. Craig Arnett will officiate. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery, South Whitley, IN. For those who wish to honor the memory of Willard Hackworth, memorial contributions may be given to American Diabetes Association, 7363 E. 21st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46219.
