Vivian (Newcomer) Miller

August 1, 1920 — June 12, 2017

Vivian Miller, 96, North Manchester, Indiana passed away at Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester on June 12, 2017 at 6:55 a.m. Vivian was born in Monroe Township, Kosciusko County, Indiana on August 1, 1920 to Floyd V. and Mary Marie (Fox) Newcomer. In 1938, Vivian graduated from Sidney High School and attended Manchester College. On November 24, 1939 Vivian married James Miller. They were married for 59 years before James passed away on January 12, 1999. Besides loving her family, Vivian was a member of the First Brethren Church, North Manchester, where she was a member in the bell choir and voice choir. She was also a member of Timbercrest Choir and an avid Cubs and Indiana University basketball fan. Vivian is survived by one son Douglas (Colleen) Miller, West Salem, Wisconsin; one daughter Christine (Jack) Fisher, Mentone, Indiana; one daughter-in-law Margie Schutz, North Manchester, Indiana; and four in-laws Gene Valentine, Alice Newcomer, Bernice Keppler, and Byron Miller, all of North Manchester; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Vivian was preceded in death by one son Dennis Miller; one daughter Sue Basile; two brothers Hubert R. and Ronald Newcomer; and four sisters Louise Goehler, Carolyn Noland, JoAnne Valentine, and Jeanette Tridle. Family and friends may call June 24, 2017  from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, Indiana. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on June 24, 2017 at the Timbercrest Chapel. Pastor Kurt Stout and Rev. Byron Miller will officiate. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, following the memorial service.
