Verl E. Hoagland, 93, North Manchester, IN died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN . He was born October 19, 1921 in Wabash County, IN to Roy & Marie (Baker) Hoagland. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Sarasota in WWII 1944-1945. He was a member of South Pleasant United Methodist Church, Silver Lake, IN and a life member of the VFW Post 2215. On January 11, 1942 he married Virginia Fretz. He was retired machinist from General Dynamics, San Diego, CA. Verl is survived by his wife, Virginia Hoagland, North Manchester, IN; one daughter, Mrs. John (Lois) Rodgers, Anaheim, CA; one brother, J. R. Hoagland, Warsaw, IN; two sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Evon) Czpansky, Rolling Prairie, IN and Mrs. Richard (Adelaid) Swanson, Atwood, IN; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. one son, Roy Hoagland, died in 2009. Four brothers are deceased. Family and friends may call Monday, July 6, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Services will be Monday, July 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Rev. Sue Babovec will officiate. Burial will be in South Pleasant Cemetery, Silver Lake, IN.
