Sylvia L. Howard

Sylvia L. Howard, 80, North Manchester, IN died at 11:58 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011 in her residence. She was born August 8, 1930 in Kosciusko County, Indiana to George Henry & Sylvia Rose (Vandermark) Young. On September 15, 1952 she married Sammie Howard Jr. He survives. Also surviving are a son, Sammie E. (Sharon K.) Howard, Gladwin, MI; four daughters, Sue E. Howard, Rita M. (Steve McClure) Howard, Pamela K. Howard and Sheila (Mark) Hann, all of North Manchester, IN. Seven grandchildren, Chad Betten, Christopher Betten, Ian Hann and Cody Hann all of North Manchester, IN. Douglas Betten, Rochester, IN; Madison and Skylar Howard, Gladwin, MI. Four great grandchildren, Bryce, Abbigail, Allison and Gavin Betten. Two sisters, Beulah (Arden) Badskey, South Whitley, IN and Dora Fisher, Adelaide, Australia. Six brothers are deceased. Sylvia was a homemaker and retired from General Tire at Wabash, IN after 31 1/2 years service. She was a Chester High School graduate and attended North Manchester Missionary Church. Services will be held Friday, March 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call on Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 2 -4 & 6 - 8 p.m. at McKee Mortuary.
