Shirley Holmes, 76, North Manchester, IN died at 7:15 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015 in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN. She was born December 3, 1938 in Columbus, OH to James Woodrow & Marguerite Elizabeth (Beach) Lyons. On May 23, 1988 she married Larry Holmes. He died March 30, 2010. She was a press operator at General Tire, Wabash, IN for 10 years and then a scheduler in the production office at Cooper Tire, Auburn, IN for 14 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Wabash, IN. She loved her dogs and enjoyed her friends at Peabody. She is survived by three sons, Jeffrey (Tricia) Miller, North Manchester, IN, Gregory Miller, Arlington, VA and John (Janice) Miley, Wabash, IN; one daughter, Elizabeth Stodgell, Wabash, IN; one sister, Cindy Freed, North Manchester, IN; nine grandchildren, Sarah Miller, Ethan Miller, Brady Miller, T.J. Miley, Tabbatha Miley, MaryBeth Lorenz, Zachary Stodgell, Jonathan Stodgell and Emily Stodgell; five great grandchildren, Blake Tipton, Ashtrid Burns, Averie Turner, Adalynn Turner and Anna Walters; one cousin, Ron Phillipi, Elma, WA; and one niece, Judybeth Greer, North Manchester, IN. One daughter, Susan Miller, is deceased, one step son, DeWayne Holmes and one niece, Jennifer Lyons, are deceased. Family and friends may call Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN and one hour prior to services on Friday at Peabody Chapel. Services Friday, July 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Peabody Chapel, 400 West Seventh Street, North Manchester, IN. Rev. Sue Babovec will officiate. Burial in Laketon Cemetery, Laketon, IN.
