Ruth Ann Haynes

Ruth Ann Haynes, 78, Laketon, Indiana went to be with her Savior at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, July 4, 2013 at her home. She was born at Laketon, Indiana on April 11, 1935 to John & Grace C. (Thompson) Moyer. In 1953 she graduated from Laketon High School and later attended Marion College. On July 23, 1954 she married John W. Haynes. He died November 10, 2000. Ruth Ann was a homemaker and retired in 1997 after 24 years as a cook at Laketon Elementary School. She was a lifelong member of the Wesleyan Church, first in Laketon and eventually at Silver Lake where she served as organist, Sunday school teacher and prayer leader; among other things. Surviving are four sons, David A. (Jane) Haynes, Akron, IN: Douglas A. Haynes, Laketon, IN; Dennis A. (June) Haynes, Macy, IN; Dwight A. Haynes, Laketon, IN. A daughter, Dail Ann (Larry) Moore, Franklinville, NC. Ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Three sisters, Carol Moyer, Austintowne, OH; Beth Cooper, North Manchester, IN; Linda (Bob) Rupert, Fort Wayne, IN. In accordance with Ruth Ann's wishes, there will not be a visitation and a private graveside service is planned for the immediate family at Laketon Cemetery at a future date. Arrangements are entrusted to McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. The family wishes to thank all of the caregivers from Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home of Fort Wayne, especially Julie Day for their help, care and support of our mother.
