Ruth E. Bechtold

Ruth E. Bechtold, 90, formerly of the Bippus and Urbana areas died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. She was born at Wabash County, Indiana on March 2, 1922 to William & Flora (Boyer) Gahl. On May 3, 1940 she married Theron M. Bechtold. He died May 25, 2002. Ruth was a 1940 graduate of Urbana High School and worked at Delco in Kokomo, IN for 22 years. She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Urbana, IN. Surviving are a son, Terry (Dian) Bechtold, Frankfort, IN and a daughter, Mrs. James (Linda) Renz, Urbana, IN. Two sisters, Mary Michel Burton, North Manchester, IN and Leota Sands, Huntington, IN. Six grandchildren, Jeanett (Jay) Alexander, Urbana, IN, Joseph (Jackie) Renz, Columbia City, IN, Jason (Sherri) Renz, Urbana, IN, Joelle (Stacy) Clark, North Manchester, IN, Nathan Bechtold, Lafayette, IN and Joan (Randy) Hubler, Rossville, IN. Also surviving are 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. One brother is deceased. Services will be held Sunday, October 14, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. in Peabody Chapel, 400 W. Seventh Street, North Manchester, IN. Visitation with the family will follow the service. Pastor Randell Webb and Rev. Sue Babovec will officiate .
