Ruby Marie Muir

Ruby Marie Muir, 94, North Manchester, IN formerly of Bippus, IN died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. She was born September 8, 1918 in Pleasant Township, Wabash County, IN to Lawrence & Mary (Frantz) Hoover. She graduated from Laketon High School in 1936. She retired from Heckman Bindery, North Manchester, IN after 41 years of service. She was a member of Eel River Community Church of the Brethren, Silver Lake, IN and was a longtime member of the former West Manchester Church of the Brethren, North Manchester, IN. where she taught children's Sunday School for many years. Ruby was a 50 year member of Epsilon Sigma # 1609 and was named Woman of the Year for Indiana of that sorority in 2001. On April 29, 1955 she married Robert H. Muir. He died December 10, 1978. She is survived by one step-daughter, Mrs. Al (Alice) Pillsbury, Huntington, IN; two brothers, Russell (Joann) Hoover and Homer (Julia) Hoover, both of North Manchester, IN; two sisters, Grace Metzger & Verna (Roger) Shively, both of North Manchester, IN; one sister-in-law, LeeAnna Hoover, North Manchester, IN; three step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. One step son, Homer Muir, and two brothers, Ray Hoover & Ernest Hoover, are deceased. Services will be Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, IN. Family & friends may call one hour prior to services at Timbercrest Chapel, North Manchester, IN. Pastor Andrew Sampson & Rev. Joan Deeter will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester, IN. Arrangements entrusted to McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 W, North Manchester, IN.
