Robert Eugene Weber

December 15, 1948 — February 14, 2021

North Manchester

Robert Eugene Weber, son of Edward E. and Inez E. (Smith) Weber was born December 15, 1948 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was introduced to the Brethren while attending Manchester College. Appreciating the Brethren nonresistance stand, faithfulness in marriage, and other doctrinal practices he was baptized into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church on September 4, 1982 to which he remained faithful. He was a member of the Eel River Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Silver Lake, Indiana. On July 11, 1987 he was united in marriage to Iris Jane Miller.

In his early working years, Robert spent six years as a German teacher in a public school. He was also a teacher in a private grade school and worked in a nursing home. For thirty-eight years, he worked as a Home Health and Hospice Nursing Assistant for Parkview Hospitals. His caring, gentle ways were much appreciated in this field. He retired in 2014.

His Parkinson’s led to declining health and he was taken to Parkview Hospital at Columbia City, Indiana on Friday, February 12 and passed away quietly in his sleep February 14, 2021 at the age of 72 years and 2 months.

He is survived by his wife, Iris; three children, Sue Ann and husband David Julian, Rylan and wife Brittany Weber, and Hannah Weber and fiance Denis Meletiche; four grandchildren, Jorden and Raylen Weber, Isabella and Logan Weber; three sisters-in-law, Renee and husband Lee Wallace, Rita and husband Ervin Miller, Lou Anna and husband Stephen Hufford; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, his aunts and uncles, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Norma Miller; one grandson, Clay; brother-in-law, Rodney Miller and sister-in-law, Yolonda Miller.

He and his steadiness will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Because of his Parkinson’s and dementia, many days he did not know if he was at home, but we rest assured that he does know he is at home now.
