Robert E. Rider

Robert E. Rider, 85, Sidney, IN died at 3:16 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, IN. He was born May 20, 1930 in Silver Lake, IN to John A. & Ruth A. (Cole) Rider. He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1948. On November 191960 he married Donnabelle Hudson. He retired in 1994 from Gatke Corporation, Warsaw, IN after 36 years. Robert was a farmer. He was a charter member of the Sidney Lions Club for many years. He was avid New York Yankees fan, IU basketball fan and loved gardening. He is survived by his wife, Donnabelle Rider, Sidney, IN; one son Ron R. (Ann) Rider, Columbia City, IN; three daughters Rhonda R. (Tim) Swaidner, Huntington, IN, Rita R. Rider, Sidney, IN and Rachel R. (Todd) Creamer, Warsaw, IN; one sister, Virginia Linn, Claypool, IN; five grandchildren and two great granddaughters. One brother is deceased. Family and friends may call Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN.
