Richard L. "Dick" Miller, 75, North Manchester, IN died at 11:25 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 in Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born in Wabash County, Indiana on July 7, 1934 to Paul & Eva Elizabeth (Knipp) Miller. On October 6, 1957 he married Janet L. Workman. She survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Rita D. (Joe) Stacy, North Manchester, IN; Sheila K. Miller, Richmond, IN; Beth R. (David ) West, Huntington, IN. Three grandchildren, Trevor West, Conner West and Kiera Stacy. A foster granddaughter, Mercedes McIntosh. Two sisters, Delores (Keith) Morphew, Ossian, IN and Linda (Myron) Ridgeway, Andrews, IN. He graduated from Noble Township High School in 1954. Dick was a truck driver for North Manchester Trucking Co. for 20 years and Strauss Veal Feeds for 10 years. He was an electrician for Dickerhoff Electric and later for Hippensteel Electric where he retired from in 2000. Currently he was employed with Fahs-Brown Plumbing-Heating & Electrical, North Manchester. He loved wood working and making gifts for family and friends. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in various sporting events. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Indiana University basketball. He enjoyed life and loved being around people. He never knew a stanger. Dick has been a member of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Board since 1979. He was a member of the First Brethren Church where he expressed his love for music by singing in the church choir. Services will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call on Monday, June 28, 2010 from 3 - 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at McKee Mortuary. Warren Garner and Jim Mishler, deacons from the First Brethren Church will officiate and burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester.
