Richard W. McKee, 83, Silver Lake, IN died at 9:50 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. He was born August 22, 1930 in North Manchester, IN to Francis D. "Jake" & Mildred (Michael) McKee. He graduated from Central High School, North Manchester, IN class of 1949. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict 1951-1955. On October 15, 1955 he married Carol A. Schenkel. He was a production manager at Peabody Seating, North Manchester, IN for 34 years and retired in 1984. He was a member of Moose #1518 & American Legion Post #286. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, making people laugh and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Carol A. McKee, Silver Lake, IN; one son, Tony (Cheryl) McKee, Dover, DE; one daughter, Lori (Ralph Jr.) Dotson, Silver Lake, IN; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Four brothers, Jack, Bobbie, Billie and Thomas are deceased. Services will be Friday, January 31, 2014 at 12:00 noon at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Pastor J. P. Freeman will officiate.
