Rev. Glen A. Campbell, 85, North Manchester, Indiana died at 2:35 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at Timbercrest Healthcare Center. He was born October 21, 1924 in Colorado Springs, CO to Alfred & Lula (Heaston) Campbell. On June 8, 1948 he married Betty J. Brooks. She survives. He was a 1942 graduate of Ashboro (IN) High School, received his Bachelors degree from Manchester College in 1948, his Masters in agriculture from Cornell University in 1950 and earned a Bachelors in Divinity from Bethany Seminary in 1952. He and his wife served as missionaries in India from 1952-1970. They returned to North Manchester in 1970 and he was pastor of Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren from 1970-1976. He and his wife then moved to Monticello, IN where he was pastor of the yoked parishes of Pike Creek Church of the Brethren and Guernsey Church of the Brethren until 1991 when he retired. Throughout his life he was an avid gardener and naturalist, particularly bird watching and fishing. He also enjoyed golfing. He was a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren. His wife Betty is a third generation Brethren missionary to India. Her parents, Harlan & Ruth (Forney) Brooks spent 35 years as missionaries in India. Also surviving are two sons, Philip G. (Deborah) Campbell, North Manchester, IN and John E. (Janice) Campbell, West Lafayette, IN. Seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Vernon (Barbara) Campbell, Milford, IN and David Campbell, Defiance, OH. One daughter, Margaret Ann Foster died in 1999. One brother is also deceased. SERVICES WILL BE HELD TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2010 AT 2:30 P.M. IN TIMBERCREST CHAPEL, 2201 EAST STREET, NORTH MANCHESTER, IN. FRIENDS AND FAMILY MAY CALL AT THE CHAPEL FROM 12 NOON - 2:30 P.M. Pastor Kurt Borgmann will officiate and burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester, IN. For those who wish to honor the memory of Rev. Glen A.
