Randall L. “Randy” Bashore, 69, Warsaw, Indiana, passed away March 27, 2021 at his home. Randy was born August 28, 1951 in Wabash, Indiana, to Ted L. and D. Joann (Cook) Bashore. He was one of four children.
At the age of sixteen Randy started working for Peabody Seating Company in North Manchester and worked there for nine years before taking a job at Zimmer Incorporated, Warsaw, in 1976. He started as a janitor, but through hard work and determination, Randy worked his way up to Senior Tool Engineer during his forty-one years at Zimmer. While working, Randy completed his Associate Degree in Engineering from Ivy Tech. During his time at Zimmer, he traveled to several places helping different companies with their machining needs and problems before retiring in 2017 from Zimmer-Biomet.
In his younger years, Randy was part of the American Freedom Band with his future brother-in-law, Terry Johnson. He helped with the sound and lighting for shows. On February 10, 1978 Randy’s life changed forever when he married Kathy Quick. The two were married for forty-three years and had two sons, Jody Torpy and Randy Bashore Jr. Randy was always there encouraging his children growing up. From being a Boy Scouts Leader to Motocross, Randy always wanted the best for his sons, wife, and family. He and Kathy enjoyed their time traveling as well. They especially enjoyed their trips to Tennessee, Florida, Michigan, and Hawaii. Randy also loved his time watching Motor Trend, Pittsburgh Steelers, and NASCAR, especially before Jeff Gordan retired.
Randy’s family and friends will always remember his outgoing personality. He never knew a stranger and often struck up conversations with people he didn’t know, only to have them become friends. He could talk about anything from football and NASCAR to tooling and many other topics.
The loving memory of Randy Bashore will be forever cherished by his mother, D.
