Paula I. Spencer, 63, Akron, Indiana died at 9:48 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 in Parkview Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She was born at Indianapolis, IN on April 25, 1946 to Paul V. & Violet I. (Eddington) Houtzer. They are deceased. On February 27, 1965 she married Jesse J. Spencer. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Traci L. (David) Wilcox and Jessica I. Renz, both of North Manchester, IN. Seven grandchildren, Gabrielle & Branden Wilcox, both of North Manchester; Janessa Renz, Jarra Renz and Jordon Renz, all of North Manchester. Zachery Spencer and Nicole Spencer, both of Tipton, IN. One great-grandson, DeJay Judy, North Manchester. Three sisters, Dede R. (Bob) Payne and Brenda R. Lawson, both of Carmel, IN. One half sister, Kathleen (Joe) Wimer, Auburn, IN. One son, Jesse J. Spencer II, a half brother and a half sister are deceased. Paula graduated from North Central High School in Indianapolis, IN with the class of 1965. She was a former employee for Peabody Seating Co. and Eaton Controls Co. and Laketon Refinery. Currently she was secretary for the St. Robert's Catholic Church. In 2007 she received her associates degree in computer science from Ivy Tech in Kokomo, IN. She was a member of St. Robert's Catholic Church. Services will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Robert's Catholic Church, 1203 State Road 114 East, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call on Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Calling also one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Father Sextus Don will officiate and burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley St., North Manchester, IN. For those who wish to honor the memory of Paula I. Spencer, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 601 W. Edison Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46545-8822.
