Norma N. Slack

Norma N. Slack, 85, North Manchester, IN died at 12:20 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born at Claypool, Indiana on August 19, 1926 to Ralph & Neva (Jones) Mattix. On January 25, 1948 she married Russell M. Slack. He died June 14, 1980. Norma was a 1944 graduate of Burket High School, she attended First Brethren Church, North Manchester and enjoyed meeting with the Joyful Hearts group at the church. She was a faithful supporter of 4-H. A homemaker, she retired from Heckman Bindrey in 1994. She was an avid gardener and a great baker, a loving grandmother to Kelli and Brett, and a friend to many. Surviving are two sons, Bob (Deborah) Slack, Inverness, IL and Tom (Val) Slack, North Manchester, IN. Two grandchildren, Kelli Slack, West Lafayette, IN and Brett Slack, North Manchester, IN. One brother, Bob Mattix, Claypool, IN and a sister, Charlene (Conrad) Meinert, Warsaw, IN. Services will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 W, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary. Pastor Kurt Stout will officiate services and burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley Street, North Manchester, IN.
