Norma E. King Novakowski

Norma E. King Novakowski, 91, North Manchester, IN died at 9:25 a.m. Sunday, September 26, 2010 in Peabody Healthcare Center. She was born at Beecher, Illinois on July 19, 1919 to Frank & Emma (Schutte) Ziems. On July 14, 1940 she married Thomas George King. He died July 15, 1973. On September 9, 1979 she married Edward Novakowski. He died January 2, 1989. A son, Thomas E. King died January 17, 2006. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Barbara) Williams, North Manchester, IN and Mrs. Kenneth (Judy) Yambor, Plainfield, IL. Four grandchildren, Gary (Julie) Yambor, Homer Glen, IL; Mrs. Jeff (Lynne) Schwartz, West Chicago, IL; David (Janette) Williams, Ft. Wayne, IN; Mrs. Vernon (Jennifer) Martin, North Manchester, IN. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren. One brother, one sister and one great-granddaughter are deceased. Norma was an avid bingo player, devoted to family and friends and a "mother" to many. Services will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at North Manchester United Methodist Church, 306 E. 2nd Street, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call on Wednesday from 3 - 5 p.m. at the church. Rev. Kevin DeKoninck will officiate and burial will be in Crete Cemetery, Crete, Illinois.
