Norma Jean Fingerle

Norma Jean Fingerle, 69, daughter of Chester and Helen (Frantz) Fingerle, was born on October 22, 1953 in Wabash County, Indiana and passed away at 12:25 p.m. on March 1, 2023 at the Waters of Syracuse.

Norma worked for Heckman Bindery in North Manchester for 11 years and babysat for several families in the area. Never being married, she found joy spending time with her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed puzzles, went for walks, and loved to spend time with friends.

Prior to her death, she kept falling at her home and didn’t know why. Finally through tests she was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor that was terminal. The family determined that she could not live alone. She was moved from the hospital to a skilled nursing facility where she declined rapidly. She passed away from this life surrounded by family members.

Norma Jean is survived by her father and siblings: Richard (Susan) Fingerle, Burlington, Indiana, Cheryl (Don) Ganger, New Paris, Indiana, James (Tammy) Fingerle, Pierceton, Indiana, and Gary Fingerle, North Manchester, Indiana. Also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Daniel and Anna (Maud) Fingerle and Jacob and Ethel (Renicker) Frantz. Norma greatly missed her dear mother that passed to her eternal home in 2017.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the funeral at 3:00 p.m. at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 12546 North State Road 13, North Manchester, Indiana. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
