Max L. Blocher (80) passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2024. He was born the 5th of 6 children on May 31, 1944, to S. Willis and Leila E. (Baker) Blocher in Laketon, IN.
Fifty-two years ago, on November 20th, 1971, he married Sandra R. Weber, and they raised their three sons Ken, Doug, and Ryan on the family farm in North Manchester, IN. Max was no stranger to hard work. He dedicated much of his career to farming and the cattle hauling business. He was a consummate helper to anyone who needed a hand. His love for Jesus and his family was evident in nearly every conversation. Max would strike up a conversation with a perfectly good stranger, of which he knew few. In addition to farming, he loved road trips out West, winters in Homestead, Florida, riding his motorcycle, calling on friends near and far to check on them, and a perfectly sun-ripened garden tomato with a side of sweet corn and strawberry shortcake.
Max’s steady, gentle spirit will be deeply missed by his family: Sandra; Ken (Janet), Mesa, Washington; Doug, Warsaw, IN; Ryan (Kate), Nashville, TN; Grandchildren Mitch (Ann Marie), Kasey, Olivia (Carter), Jack, Halsey, Crosby, Colsen, Hudson, Cord, and Indiana; Great Grandchild, Ava; Sister, Ruthie (David) Brubaker. Max was preceded in death by his Parents and Brothers (Billy G., Robert E., Joseph L., and Marvin E.).
