Mauricio "Billy" Tomas Abney

January 21, 2008 — June 1, 2023

North Manchester

Mauricio Tomas “Billy” Abney, 15, North Manchester, passed away on June 1, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. Billy was born on January 21, 2008, in Fort Wayne, and soon thereafter his grandparents, Kathy and Al Page, loved and cared for him as one of their own children.

Though life was never easy or normal for Billy, he made the absolute most of it and did everything with a smile. He attended grade school at Sharp Creek Elementary School and was set to begin his sophomore year at Manchester Junior-Senior High School in August. Billy had a great sense of humor and often played tricks on his teachers. He loved hockey, especially listening to his favorite announcer call games for the Atlanta Gladiators. He also enjoyed listening to Morgan Wallen and other new age country artists. Billy also delighted in being outside and going for walks. However, he loved nothing more than snuggling with his grandma and playing with his niece, Evalyn Grace Miller.

The loving memory of  Mauricio “Billy” Abney will be forever cherished by his grandparents, Al and Kathy Page, North Manchester; mother, Ronzo (Jeremy Blevins) Crumly, North Manchester; sister, Abigail Anderson, North Manchester; uncles, James Crumly, North Manchester, Michael (Angie) Page, Pendleton, and Brian (Ruth) Page, Lafayette; aunts, Lisa Page, Wabash, Shani (Tony) Name, Kokomo, Katrina (Armando) Tinajero, Indianapolis, and Tamara (Michael) Smith, Peoria, Illinois, Amber (Christopher) Rawlins, Indianapolis; great aunt, Doris Bristow, Athens, Alabama; and many nieces, nephews, and friends he made along the way.
