Mary E. "Betty" Woomer

Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Woomer, 91, North Manchester, IN died at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 in Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, IN. She was born July 10, 1919 in Expedit, PA to Alonzo L. & Emma B. (Marsh) Danvir. She was 1937 graduate of Blacklick Township High School, Cambria County, PA. On November 17, 1947 she married Arch Mahlon Woomer. He died August 10, 2003. Betty was a homemaker and during WWII she worked at Sylvania Co., Altoona, PA. She was a member of Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, IN, Ivy Chapter #69 Order of Eastern Star, North Manchester, IN and Daughters of the Nile, Altoona, PA. She is survived by one son, Gary M. (Sue) Woomer, Downington, PA; one daughter, Kathy (Roger) Prater, North Manchester, IN; two grandchildren, Jeffrey M. (Tara) Woomer and Tracey (Andrew) Blickos, both of Coatsville, PA. She is also survived by five great grandchildren of which she was very proud. Also surviving are three nieces and three nephews. Services Friday, August 6, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Congregational Christian Church, 310 N. Walnut Street, North Manchester, IN. Calling Friday, August 6, 2010 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Congregational Christian Church. Pastor J. P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Bald Eagle Cemetery, Bald Eagle, PA.
