Martha I. Rhoades, 90, North Manchester, IN died Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 12:02 a.m. in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. She was born October 20, 1920 in North Manchester, IN to Homer & Estella (Beck) Towey. She graduated from Laketon High School in the class of 1938. On February 12, 1954 she married Wayne Rhoades. He died May 9, 1978. She was a homemaker & co-owner, with her husband Wayne, of Rhoades Auto Repair in North Manchester for many years and retired from Manchester Community Schools in 1989 as Secretary at Manchester High School. She was a member of North Manchester United Methodist Church and a past member of E.S.A Chapter 1609, North Manchester, IN. Martha is survived by one son, Michael W. (Sheila) Rhoades, North Manchester, IN; one daughter, Joyce A. Rhoades, New Castle, IN; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. One sister, Gertrude Coleman, is deceased.
