Marjorie Carter, 81, North Manchester, IN died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born August 17, 1933 in Lafayette, IN to Henry & Josephine (Hamilton) Haywood. She married Cecil C. Carter in 1950. He is deceased. She graduated from Jefferson High School, Lafayette, IN. A member of Women of the Moose in Goshen and Wabash, IN, American Legion Auxiliary #836, North Manchester, IN and VFW Auxiliary, Lafayette, IN. She was past State President of the Marine Corp League Women's Auxiliary Lafayette Chapter. She was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church, Lafayette, IN. She enjoyed oil painting, baking and setting around the campfire at the lake with her grandchildren and friends. She is survived by three sons, Cecil C. (Penny) Carter, White City, KS, Curtis (Regina) Carter, West Lebanon, IN and Richard Carter, West Lebanon, IN; one daughter, Kelly (Mark) Benton, North Manchester, IN; one brother, Bob (Sharon) Haywood, Lafayette, IN; one sister, Dolly Parker, Lafayette, IN; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. One son, Michael Joe Carter, one grandson, Cpl. Curtis A. Carter, one and one brother, James Haywood, are deceased. There will be no calling or services.
