Marion Ireland Jr

Marion Ireland Jr., 85, North Manchester, IN died at 8:55 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010 in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. He was born at Wabash County, IN on April 6, 1924 to Marion & Bernice B. (Sewell) Ireland. On February 14, 1952 he married Esther B. Shewman. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Gordon Ireland, North Manchester, IN and Marion "Buddy" Ireland III, Wabash, IN. Five daughters, Margaret Cartwright and Ruth DeTurk, both of North Manchester, IN; Mary Dryden and Melinda Johnson, both of Bonita Springs, FL; Maria Ireland, Fort Wayne, IN. Elevan grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. One son and five sisters are deceased. A retired farmer he also drove truck for Ringel Express and North Express. Bud was a 1942 graduate of Laketon High School and attended Purdue University. He was a charter member of the American Legion Post # 402, Laketon, IN where he has been a member over 60 years. Services will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 12 - 2 p.m. at the mortuary.
