Marietta Sell

Marietta Sell, 88, North Manchester, IN died at 4:50 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012 in Peabody Healthcare Center. She was born January 15, 1924 in Wabash County, IN to Clarence & Ida (Keister) Metzger. She was a lifetime North Manchester area resident and graduated from Chester High School in 1942. On December 24, 1942 she married Paul L. Sell. He died November 6, 1990. She was a homemaker and was a telephone operator at the GTE office in North Manchester for 3 1/2 years. She then was employed at Strauss Inc., North Manchester for 14 1/2 years before retiring in 1987. Marietta was a member of North Manchester United Methodist Church and a former member of Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren and Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church. She is survived by one son, Daniel (Janice) Sell, Ft. Wayne, IN; one daughter, Barbara (Doug) Vawter, Zionsville, IN; six gradchildren, Michael (Becky) Sell, New Orleans, LA, Matthew (Joy) Sell, Canary Islands, Spain, Jennifer (Patrick) Cunningham, Terre Haute, IN, Cameron (Anne) Vawter, Calistoga, CA, Brad Vawter, Indianapolis, IN and Kimberly Vawter, Los Angeles, CA; Eight great grandchildren, Samuel, Daniel & David Sell, Hana, Bereket & Ellen Cunningham, Adelaide & Elizabeth Vawter. Three brothers, Orville, Don and Lester Metzger and one sister, Opal Miller, are deceased. Friends and family may call Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Calling also Monday, April 30, 2012 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at North Manchester United Methodist Church, 306 E. 2nd Street, North Manchester, IN. Services Monday, April 30, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at North Manchester United Methodist Church, 306 E. 2nd Street, North Manchester, IN. Pastor Larry Ray officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN.
