Mamie A. Keim

Mamie A. Keim, 81, North Manchester, IN died at Thursday, November 24, 2011 at 4:40 p.m. in Peabody Healthcare Center. She was born at Cass County, Indiana on January 12, 1930 to John J. & Rachel (Hynes) Smith. On June 10, 1951 she married John H. Keim. He died December 17, 1998. Mamie earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Manchester College in 1951 and her Master of Science in Education from Indiana University in 1965. She was a dedicated teacher and counselor for 40 years, 30 of those years with Manchester Community Schools, North Manchester, IN. She retired in 1995. She was a member of First Brethren Church, North Manchester where she was a dedicated organist. She was also a member of National Education Association, Indiana Retired Teachers, I.S.T.A. and M.T.A. Surviving are three sons, Charles (Lorena) Keim, North Manchester, IN.; William E. Keim, North Manchester, IN; Wallace E. (Lori) Keim, The Woodlands, TX; and a daughter, Janis A. (Cindy Thomas) Keim, Penrose, NC. Six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and three sisters. Services will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. at McKee's. Pastor Ron Burns and Rev. Kurt Stout will officiate and burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley Street, North Manchester, IN. For those who wish to honor the memory of Mamie A.
