Major H. Nitzschke

Major H. Nitzschke, 92, North Manchester, IN died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 7:50 p.m. in Brookside Haven Healthcare, Muncie, IN. He was born June 29, 1920 in Pulaski County, IN to Clyde & Jane (Stitz) Nitzschke. On September 27, 1942 he married Mary C. Hurley. She died July 1, 1980. He then married Barbara J. Day on April 15, 1983. She died August 23, 2002. Major served in the US Army during WWII. He retired from the Manchester Foundry in 1983 and was a life member of the VFW Post #286, Wabash, IN and a life member of the American Legion Post #286, North Manchester, IN. He is survived by two step-sons, Rick Day, Mexico, IN and Rodney Day, North Manchester, IN. Three brothers and four sisters are deceased. Services and burial are at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley Street, North Manchester, IN. Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating.
