Luka Dean Renz

Luka Dean Renz, 3, Roanoke, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 1, 2023, at home. The treasured son of Lucas and Mercedes (Lockhart) Renz, Luka was born in Fort Wayne on January 31, 2020.

At the tender age of three, Luka exhibited more courage, strength, and love than most people possess in their entire lives. He was a true inspiration to those around him. With a quiet demeanor, Luka loved to cuddle and watch his favorite television shows. He also delighted in going on stroller walks with his family and hanging out with his older sister. Luka enjoyed watching sea creatures, especially whale sharks which were his favorite. He relished his trip to SeaWorld and was able to see all of his favorite sea animals there.

The loving memory of sweet Luka Renz will be forever cherished by his adoring parents, Lucas and Mercedes Renz, Roanoke; loving sister, Lana Quin Renz; doting grandparents: paternal grandfather and grandmother, Dan and Kristi Renz, North Manchester, maternal grandfather, Carl (Tonya) Lockhart, Lakeland, Florida, maternal grandmother, Rose (John) Haefele, Bellevue, Michigan, bonus grandmother, Roberta “Bobbi” Lautzenheiser, North Manchester; many aunts and uncles; and countless others he impacted in his brief but magnificent life.

Family and friends may call Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 7, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with calling beginning at 12:00 noon with Pastor Jason Kissel officiating. Burial will be held at St. John’s Cemetery, ½ mile west of Bippus, Indiana on county road 800 North.
