Lois A. Lytle, 89, formerly of North Manchester, IN died at 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Tina McGhee Healthcare Home, Decherd, TN. She was born February 6, 1921 in Chester Township, Wabash County, IN to Emmet & Laura M. (Speicher) Spacy. On May 15, 1942 she married Ralph L. Lytle. He died February 27, 1996. Surviving are two sons, Keith (Connie) Lytle, Estill Springs, TN and Mark Lytle, Haines City, FL. Two granddaughters, Lora (Todd) Schafer, Centerville, OH and Lisa (Andy) Ellinger, Murfreesboro, TN. Five great grandchildren, Andrew, Haleigh and Alexa Ellinger, Murfreesboro, TN; Alyssa and Ryan Schafer, Centerville, OH. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Joe & Cathy Spacy. Lois was a 1939 graduate of Chester High School, received a B.S. degree from Manchester College in 1944, and her Masters degree in education from Ball State University in 1963. She taught school for 34 years. 31 of those years teaching English and Home Economics in the Manchester Community Schools. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, North Manchester, IN; Frances Slocum Chapter of the D.A.R.; Alpha Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority International; Lake Region (Florida) Red Hatter's Society and was active in Wabash County 4-H. Ralph & Lois both had pilots licenses and enjoyed their Cessna airplane. She enjoyed camping, travel abroad and attending art classes. She also attended the Laff Galore Clown Ministry. Services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate and burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN. For those who wish to honor the memory of Lois A.
