Leonard "Hager" Prater, 67, North Manchester, IN died at 4:00 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010 at his residence. He was born at Silver Lake, IN on July 19, 1943 to Asberry & Nazzie (Bailey) Prater. He had worked at the former Bendix Corp. at North Manchester, IN and ParKan at Silver Lake, IN. He was a member of the Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren and served in Vietnam with the US Army from 1966-1968. Surviving are three sons, Len Edward Prater, North Manchester, IN / Robert Lee (Tammy) Prater, Liberty Mills, IN / Samuel T. Prater, Warsaw, IN. Three daughters, Mrs. T.J. (Jessica) Harner, Kokomo, IN / Mrs. Earl (Angie) Ward Jr., Warsaw, IN and Jennifer Hopp, Aurora, CO. Three grandchildren, Dakota "Boo" Prater, Phoenix Goad, both of Liberty Mills, IN, Aaron Prater, North Manchester, IN and Declan Hopp, Aurora, CO. One brother, Stacy Prater, Athens, AL and two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Rosalea) Blanton and Mrs. Lonnie (Rachel) Harmon, both of North Manchester, IN. Two brothers and two sisters are deceased. Services will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren, 71 N. Third St., Liberty Mills, IN. Friends and family may call from 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Military rites and burial will be Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Marion National Cemetery, 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, IN. Pastor Kelly Beutler will officiate.
