Lawrence “Larry” Craig Sims passed away February 11, 2020 at 11:25 a.m. at his residence. One of ten children, Larry was born September 16, 1951 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to George and Ethel (Kenney) Sims.
Larry graduated from Shade High School in Cairnbrook, Pennsylvania, in 1968. After high school, Larry attended East Tennessee State University and later Ivy Tech where he received his HVAC certification. He was a certified welder and worked on HVAC systems for over twenty years. He also built aircraft for Boeing for three years. At the age of 46, Larry had a massive heart attack that left him on disability. He truly enjoyed helping others, both with their mechanical needs and general handyman tasks. Larry also relished his time fishing and watching The Big Bang Theory with his dog Mousey.
The memory of Larry will be forever cherished by his companion, Pamela Rhoades, North Manchester; four brothers, Kenneth Sims, John Sims, David Sims, and Gregory Sims; three sisters, Elaine Sims, Carolyn Levine, and Lillian Feathers; and one niece, Renee Joseph. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, J.D. Sims; and one sister, Evelyn Louise Griffin.
There will be no services at this time.
