Lawrence E. Mills

Lawrence E. Mills, 70, Silver Lake, IN died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 6:35 p.m. in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. He was born September 7, 1943 in Fort Wayne, IN to Kenneth R. & Margaret R. (Minnich) Mills. He graduated from Decatur, IN High School in 1960. On April 28, 1968 he married Elizabeth E. Whitley. Larry retired from the United States Marine Corps in 1981 after 21 years of service. While in the Marine Corps, he received an MA Degree in electronics. After retiring from the Marine Corps, he was employed at Magnavox-Raytheon, Fort Wayne, IN for 20 years, retiring in 2002. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth E. Mills, Silver Lake, IN; one step son, Robert Lynn (Ann) Simmons, Lovington, NM; one step daughter, Judy E. Morris, Lovington, NM; two brothers, Thomas R. Mills, South Milford, IN and David (Donna) Mills, Decatur, IN; one sister, Jenny Mills, South Milford, IN; seven step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. He was a beloved husband, uncle and step dad. Family and friends may call Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Services will be Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Father Drew Curry will officiate.
