Larry E. Holmes

Larry E. Holmes, 63, Laketon, IN died at 5:56 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born July 9, 1946 in Auburn, IN to Robert & Susan (Daub) Holmes. On May 23, 1988 he married Shirley E. Lyons. She survives. He was a US Navy & US Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Wabash, IN. Larry was a commercial painter and later retired from RR Donnelley & Sons, Warsaw, IN after 14 years. He is survived by his wife, Shirely Holmes, Laketon, IN; three sons, Jeffrey (Tricia) Miller, North Manchester, IN, Gregory Miller, Arlington, VA and John (Janice) Miley, Wabash, IN; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Elizabeth) Stodgell, Wabash, IN; one sister, Linda McElvaney, Carson City, NV; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. One son, DuWayne Holmes, is deceased. Services will be Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call Friday, April 2, 2010 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, IN. Pastor Manfred Fremder will officiate. Burial will be in Laketon Cemetery, Laketon, IN.
