L. Louise Sroufe, 87, North Manchester, Indiana died at 8:50 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 in Peabody Healthcare Center. She was born at North Manchester, IN on May 30, 1925 to Melvin R. & Trevah P. (Farley) Snell. On September 24, 1944 she married George R. Sroufe. He died March 2, 1991. Surviving is a daughter, Barbara (Bob) Jester, North Manchester, IN; a daughter-in-law, Melonie Sroufe, North Manchester, IN. Five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Two brothers, DeWayne (Doris) Snell, North Manchester, IN and Robert (Sheila) Snell, Indianapolis, IN. A sister, Joann (Russell) Hoover, North Manchester, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Lucille Walters, and a son Michael G. Sroufe who died in 2011. Louise was a homemaker and member of the Manchester Church of the Brethren. Services will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary. Pastor Kurt Borgmann will officiate and burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester.
