Kindle Allen, 94, North Fort Myers, FL died at 5:25 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2010 at The Woodlands Assisted Living Facility, Cape Coral, FL. He was born in Magoffin County, KY on October 28, 1915 to Hatcher & Sina (Whitaker) Allen. On September 6, 1934 he married Cynthia J. Hale. She died December 14, 1994. Kindle was a self employed farmer for many years, drove truck for the Indiana State Highway Dept. for 9 years, and retired from Controls Co., after 20 years. He was a member of the North Manchester United Methodist Church and attended services at Woodlands, where he also volunteered in many capacities including the lunch room. He was an avid shuffleboard player at Carriage Village in North Fort Myers, FL. Surviving are three sons, Luther (Janet) Allen, North Webster, IN; Marvin (Nevonna) Allen, North Manchester, IN and Larry Allen, Scottsdale, AZ. Three daughters, Aileen Bumgardner, North Fort Myers, FL; Frieda (Bob) Kyser, Cape Coral, FL and Janet (Don) Wagner, Melbourne, FL. Eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. One grandchild, one great-grandchild, one son, one daughter, and two sisters are deceased. SERVICES WILL BE HELD THURSDAY, JANUARY 28, 2010 AT 10:00 A.M. IN MCKEE MORTUARY, 1401 STATE ROAD 114 WEST, NORTH MANCHESTER, IN. FRIENDS AND FAMILY MAY CALL ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 27, FROM 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 P.M. AT MCKEE MORTUARY. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate and burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Servia. For those who wish to honor the memory of Kindle Allen, memorial contributions may be made to Congregational Christian Church, 310 N. Walnut St., North Manchester, IN or Woodlands Assisted Living Facility, 825 Santa Barabra Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33991.
