Kim Alan Wood

Kim Alan Wood, 68, Wabash, formerly of North Manchester, passed away January 18, 2024, at Majestic Care of Jefferson Pointe in Fort Wayne. The son of Harold Rupert and Carol Eileen (Collins) Wood, Kim was born November 28, 1955, in Wabash.

Kim graduated from Manchester High School in 1974 and attended college for two years before entering the workforce. He worked at Da-Lite Screen in Warsaw for fifteen years before retiring in 2016. Kim was a man of many talents and possessed a gift for music, both singing and playing instruments. He was also skilled at drawing, woodworking, and playing games involving strategy. Many people didn’t know that he had a fondness for Marvel Comics and taking his granddaughter to Comic-Con, where they dressed up like their favorite heroes and villains. Sweet and caring, Kim was a simple man who loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren.

The loving memory of Kim Wood will be forever cherished by his wife, Barbara Wood, North Manchester; daughter, Wendy (Muhammad Rofe) Spann, Fort Wayne; stepson, Philip (Jolynn) Spann, Fort Wayne; bonus children, Lilianna Popi, Jonathan Popi, Lucas Popi, and Serenity Smith; sister, Denise (James) Baldacci, North Manchester; brothers, Joseph Scot (Pat) Wood, Auburndale, Florida, Thomas Clay (Tina) Wood, Findlay, Ohio, and  Harold Mark Wood, Roanoke; and nine grandchildren. Kim was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Kathryn (Marrs) Wood; stepsons, Rodney Hamilton and James Robert Spann; and brother, Dennis Leon Wood.

A celebration of Kim’s life will be held January 27, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren, 103 North 3rd Street, Liberty Mills, Indiana, where Kim was a member. Pastor Erin Huiras will officiate.
