June A. Kindy, 85, North Manchester, IN died Friday, February 20, 2015 at 5:05 p.m. in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. She was born June 18, 1929 in Somerset County, PA to William & Lizzie (Frye) Zimmerman. She married Dean Kindy in 1948. He died January 27, 2012. She was active in Migrant Ministry in Florida serving in the Second Brethren Volunteer Service Unit. The family frequently sponsored refugees and worked with exchange students, many of whom lived for a time with the family. June volunteered at the New Windsor Service Center and spent time as Heifer Project Hostess in Massachusetts. She was a loving mother and grandmother and supportive helpmate to her husband. She was a member of Eel River Community Church of the Brethren, Silver Lake, IN. She is survived by three sons, Cliff (Arlene) Kindy, North Manchester, IN, Bruce (Donna) Kindy, Wooster, OH and Joe (Peggy) Kindy, Sterling, OH; two daughters, Treva Schar, Wooster, OH and Gloria (Dan Garrett) Kindy, Rockville, MD; twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. Three brothers are deceased. Family and friends may call March 28, 2015 from 1:30-2:00 p.m. at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, IN. Services March 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, IN. The Pastoral Team of Eel River Community Church of the Brethren will officiate.
