John Lee "Wally" Spiece, 60, of Huntington, Indiana died at 3:38 a.m. Sunday, February 21, 2010 in St. Joseph Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born April 8, 1949. His father, Walter Spiece Jr. is deceased and his mother, Lavonne (Merrick) Spiece, survives at North Manchester, IN. Wally graduated from Manchester High School in 1967 and International Barber School in Indianapolis, IN in 1968. He was a retired barber and a former employee of Pizza King in Warsaw, IN. He was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts, I.U. baskteball and enjoyed NASCAR racing. A sports enthusiast, he was very knowledgeable about all kinds of sport statistics. Also surviving are his uncles, Richard (Dorothy) Merrick, Wabash, IN and David Underhill, Ft. Wayne, IN. Cousins, Kelly (Greg) Schenkel, and Rod (Robin) Merrick, both of Wabash, IN; Debi (Steve) Dice, Ft. Wayne, IN and Janice (Rick) Smith, Muncie, IN. SERVICES WILL BE HELD WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2010 AT 11:00 A.M. IN MCKEE MORTUARY, NORTH MANCHESTER. FRIENDS AND FAMILY MAY CALL ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, FROM 4 - 7 P.M. AT THE MORTUARY. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate and burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
