John David Rohrer, of North Manchester, died on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Timbercrest Senior Living Community. He was 86. John was born on July 31, 1931 in North Manchester and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Chester High School in 1950. In 1952 he married Mary Ann Gugle and she survives, along with their three children: Vicki Korreckt of Huntington, IN; Sue (Tom) Sinex of Fort Myers, FL; and David (Mara) Rohrer of Jeffersonville, IN. John and Mary Ann also have ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. John was a self-employed farmer from 1948-1990 and also worked at Parker Industries/ParKan at Silver Lake, IN from 1967-2012. John was always committed to Christian service and his church and he was a great student of the Bible. Most recently, he was a member of The Chapel in Fort Wayne, IN. John loved playing golf, "tinkering" in the shed, farming, watching his grandchildren's activities, and vacations with family. He was an avid Purdue fan and a creative inventor and problem solver. John never met a stranger or a person who he wouldn't help. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and he will be greatly missed by all.
