John H. Helton

John H. Helton, 70, North Manchester, IN died Monday, November 7, 2011 at 7:20 p.m. in his residence. He was born February 24, 1941 in Floyd County, KY to John & Myrtle (Hale) Helton. He came to Silver Lake from Kentucky in 1954. He was a Journeyman Welder at Fisher Body, Marion, IN for 31 years. He retired in 1998. On November 12, 1960 he married Carolyn J. Kline. She died September 22, 2010. His passion was his family and he enjoyed spending the winter in Florida. He is survived by one son, Gary E. (Melanie) Helton, Roann, IN; two daughters, Kimmy K. (Dennis) Cook, Dresden, TN and Jenny C. Helton, North Manchester, IN; three brothers Fred (Lourena) Helton, Warsaw, IN, Don (Janet) Helton, Silver Lake, IN and Ellis (Mary) Helton, Silver Lake, IN; two sisters, Elsie Dotson, Prestonsburg, KY and Emma Slone, Silver Lake, IN; three sisters-in-law, Sylvia Helton, Silver Lake, IN, Marilyn (Larry) Vetor, North Manchester, IN and Helen Jackson, Servia, IN; three brothers-in-law, Marvin Phillips, Roann, IN, Donny (Susie) Kline, North Manchester, IN and Bill Kline, North Manchester, IN; six grandchildren, Blake A. (Rachel) Harper, South Whitley, IN, Cassie J. Cook, Dresden, TN, Brooke O. Helton, Roann, IN, Denise R. Cook, Dresden, TN, Paige V. Helton, Roann, IN and Peyton J. Helton, Roann, IN and 36 nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call Wednesday, November 9, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 W, North Manchester, IN. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2011 at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, IN. Pastor Terry Bradford will officiate. Burial in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN.
