Joann Jackson-Ihnen

Joann Jackson-Ihnen, 89, North Manchester, IN passed through the door to eternity and into the arms of her Savior on May 9, 2017 at 11:46 a.m. at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, IN.  She was born May 1, 1928 in Wabash County, IN to Howard & Ruth (Green) Enyeart.  On October 11, 1946 she married Merrill Jackson.  He died November 2, 1989.  She then married Walter Ihnen on June 28, 1997.  He died December 13, 2002.  She was a life-long resident of North Manchester, In and graduated from Central High School in 1946.  Her greatest ambition in life was to be a mother and a grandmother.  She excelled at both.  Her spunk and sassiness will be greatly missed.  She was a devoted member of the First Brethren Church, North Manchester, IN serving in the nursery for over 30 years and played in the bell choir.  She is survived by one son, Larry (Lisa) Jackson, Fort Wayne, IN; step sons, Larry (Connie) Ihnen, North Manchester, IN, Richard (Janet) Ihnen, Warsaw, IN and Brian (Alice) Ihnen, Suffolk, VA; step daughters, Susan (Larry) Dockter, North Manchester, IN and Linda (Sam) Riggle, Warsaw, IN; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  Two sons, Gordon W. "Jackie" Jackson, and Gary Jackson, are deceased.  Family and friends may call Monday, May 15, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN and one hour prior to service on Tuesday.  Services will be Tuesday,  May 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First Brethren Church, 407 N. Sycamore Street, North Manchester, IN.  Pastor Kurt Stout will officiate.  Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN.  For those who wish to honor the memory of Joann Jackson-Ihnen, memorial contributions may be made to First Brethren Church, 407 N.
