Joan J. Poe

Joan J. Poe, 81, North Manchester, IN died ay 7:39 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012 in Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born September 21, 1931 in Waterloo, IN to Marion & Esther (Benjamin) Dirr. She graduated from Eden (OH) High School in 1949. Joan retired from Heckman Bindery after 43 years of service. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #1518, North Manchester, IN and enjoyed working in her flower gardens, crocheting, traveling and traveling to see her grandchildren. On July 17, 1984 she married Roger L. Poe. He died September 7, 2005. She is survived by three sons, Greg A. Houser, LaFontaine, IN, Neil W. (Cindy) Houser, Kasilof, AK and Dennis L. (Valerie) Houser, North Manchester, IN; one sister, Marcella Peppler, Fort Wayne, IN; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. One son, Michael D. Houser, died in 1983. Friends and family may call Friday, October 26, 2012 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Services will be Friday, October 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate.
