Jay J. Shepherd

Jay J. "Butch" Shepherd, 62, North Manchester, IN died at 2:35 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Wabash Skillled Care Center, Wabash, IN. He was born at Prestonsburg, KY on May 6, 1949 to Jay & Mollie (Hall) Shepherd. On May 21, 1971 he married Cathy S. Miller. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Lori A. (Clifford) Seat, Ft. Wayne, IN. Two grandsons, Bryce & Trevor Shepherd, North Manchester, IN. Two brothers, Clark Shepherd, Packerton, IN and George (Cathy) Shepherd, Claypool, IN. Six sisters, Katherine (Lester) Calhoun, Atwood, IN; Norma (Don) Lepper, Larwill, IN; Mollie (Jeff) Eisinger, North Webster, IN ; Grace (Terry) Woodling, Florida; Jeanette (Perry) Kirkland, Dallas, TX; Connie (Kevin) Hobbs, Palestine, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Toby J. Shepherd and two sisters, Ruby Besson and Josie Murphy. Butch was a 1967 graduate of South Whitley High School and was employed at Eaton Controls Co. at North Manchester, IN for 25 years. He attend Ivy Tech in Wabash until his illness. He was a real handyman and very skilled at repairing computers. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandsons. Services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. at McKee Mortuary . Pastor Kurt Stout and Pastor Chad McAtee will officiate and burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN.
