James H. Veatch

James H. Veatch, 80, Peru, IN died at 1:24 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2014 in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. He was born February 17, 1934 in Bloomfield, IN to William & Olive (Roach) Veatch. He graduated from Bloomfield High School, Bloomfield, IN in 1951 where he held the record for the cross-country mile run for over forty years. He served in the US Army in Vietnam. On March 17, 1957 he married Jean I. Mowrer. She died April 28, 1990. He retired from Eaton Controls, North Manchester, IN in 1994 after 30 years of service as a Quality Control Inspector. He wrote articles for the magazine "Right Here" which was published in Indiana and his articles were also published in the News Journal of North Manchester, IN. He is survived by one son, Joseph H. (Jannette Strasser) Veatch, Wabash, IN; two daughters, Jill E. (Don) Davidson, Edgewood, NM and Judy K. (Brian) Good, Greentown, IN; one brother, Bernard (Betty) Veatch, Bloomfield, IN; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
