James L. Trumbetic, 94, North Manchester, passed away November 10, 2023, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. The son of the late Nicholas and Gladys (Arthur) Trumbetic, James was born March 18, 1929, in Brockway, Pennsylvania.
After graduating high school, James enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he spent nearly four years proudly defending our country’s freedoms. After being honorably discharged, James earned his associate degree and began working as a computer analyst for Northrup Corporation in Hawthorne, California, where he was a member of the Sierra Club and various other clubs aimed to protect wildlife. James was deeply passionate about spending time outdoors and hiking in the wilderness.
James married Dorothy L. (Bremer) Hinton, and the two delighted in traveling the United States together. They moved to Peabody Retirement Community in March of 2012, and Dorothy sadly passed away on March 18, 2020, after thirty-one years of marriage.
James is survived by his sons, Derek (Vickie) Trumbetic, Kevin (Bonnie) Trumbetic, and Kurt Trumbetic; stepchildren, Steven (Colleen) Hinton, Kevin Hinton, Tab (Lee) Hinton, and Lori (Ralph) Peconge; seventeen grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and twenty-six great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
A private service will take place at a later date. Burial will be held at Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.
