James Ray Baker

James Ray Baker, 83, North Manchester, IN died at 9:00 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2015 in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. He was born August 11, 1932 in Warsaw, IN to Harry Raymond and Ruby Mildred (Schue) Baker. He graduated from Laketon High School in 1950.He then attended Manchester College for 2 years until he was drafted in the US Army. After returning from Korea, where he served as a medic, he took over the family farm. He retired from Fisher Body, Marion, IN in 1988 after 26 years. He then retired from Heckman Bindery, North Manchester, IN in 1998 after 10 years. He was involved with Boy Scouts of America and was a Manchester High School Band Booster for many years. Jim was a member of North Manchester Missionary Church. He is survived by two sons, Kim (Laarni) Baker, Valparaiso, IN and Tim (Annie) Baker, North Manchester, IN; two daughters, Mitzi (Jon) Parker, Commerce, TX and Tanya (Gary P.) Miller, Silver Lake, IN; one sister, Beverly Ann Spencer, Salinas, CA; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Family and friends may call Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 2:00-5:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Service Friday, September 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Pastor Dan Binkley will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, IN.
