Iona D. Poston, 83, North Manchester, IN died at 1:05 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. She was born October 5, 1929 in Laketon, IN to Charles R. & Adelia (Moore) Shaffer, Sr. She graduated from Laketon High School in 1947. On June 6, 1948 she married William H. Poston. He died August 10, 2008. Iona was a homemaker and a sales rep with Old Fort Specialty, Fort Wayne, IN. She was a member of Laketon American Legion Post #402 Auxiliary, Laketon, IN. She is survived by two sons, Michael J. (Bonnie) Poston, Winston-Salem, NC and Kim A. (Rida) Poston, Cullman, AL; two daughters, Deborah Dee Young, Fort Wayne, IN and Mrs. Ken (Diana Lee) Lybarger, North Manchester, IN; one brother, Charles R. Shaffer Jr., Laketon, IN; one sister, Mrs. Barnett (Marcia) Wolfrum, LaFontaine, IN; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services will be January 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m at Peabody Chapel, 400 W. Seventh Street, North Manchester, IN. The family will receive friends following the service. Pastor J. P. Freeman and Rev. Sue Babovec will officiate. A Private family burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN. For those who wish to honor the memory of Iona D.
