Homer L. Fry

Homer L. Fry, 85, North Manchester, IN died at 12:45 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. He was born August 24, 1927 in Clinton Township, Cass County, IN to Joseph & Maye (Cree) Fry. On September 14, 1952 he married Rosetta I. Eller. In 1949 he started working in a paint and wallpaper store and that continued 16 years. From 1965-1990 he was a switching equipment technician for Indiana Bell Telephone Co., now AT&T. In 1990 both Homer & Rosetta went to Brethren Volunteer Service for over 2 years, first to San Antonio, TX and later to Fairfield, PA They have traveled to all 50 states, Mexico, Canada and much of Europe. He was a member of Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren, Liberty Mills, IN. Homer served on the board of Weekday Religious Education of Cass County and worked in child care at disaster scenes from 1988-2004 as a service of the Church of the Brethren. He was a Timbercrest volunteer, working in the gift shop, driving residents to medical appointments and serving as a Stephen Minister. He was a lifetime member of Friends of Timbercrest. He is survived by his wife, Rosetta Fry, North Manchester, IN; two sons, Ken (Dotty) Fry, Wabash, IN & Mike (Sharon) Fry, Eaton, IN; one daughter, Cindy (James) Ritter, near Muncie, IN; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. One grandchild, four brothers and three sisters are deceased. Family and friends may call Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, IN. Service Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren, 103 N. 3rd Street, Liberty Mills, IN. Calling also one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Pastor Kelly Beutler and Pastor Erin Hurias will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN. For those who wish to honor the memory of Homer L.
