Helen S. Martin, 95, Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN went home to be with Jesus Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 10:38 p.m. at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, IN. She was born October 23, 1918 in Moore, OK to Henry & Louise (Schwartz) Kehr. Helen attended Ossian High School, Ossian, IN. On December 24, 1941 she married Edward "Pepper" Martin. He died October 23, 1995. Helen was a woman of great faith and was a 50 year member of North Manchester United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Fellowship Class, Saints Alive Choir, United Methodist Women Club and Rebeka Circle. She was also a member of North Manchester Garden Club and Kenapochamocha Club. Helen spent time volunteering at Peabody Retirement Community. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy and she cherished every moment she was able to spend with them. Helen is survived by and will be greatly missed by her sons, Jerry (Vicki) Martin, Leesburg, IN and Scott (Stephanie) Martin, South Bend, IN; daughter, Peggy (Douglas) Sawyer, Winona Lake, IN; sister-in-law, Dorothy Kehr, Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Lori (Keith) Everest, Warsaw, IN, Mandy (Dave) Bailey, Warsaw, IN, Aaron Sawyer, Washington DC, Andrew Sawyer, Chicago, IL, Kelci Martin, South Bend, IN and Derek Martin, South Bend, IN and great grandchildren, Keller & Finn Bailey, Warsaw, IN and Eva Everest, Warsaw, IN. Family & friends may call Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Services will be Friday, May 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Peabody Chapel, 400 W. Seventh Street, North Manchester, IN. Pastor Larry Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN. For those who wish to honor the memory of Helen S.
